McMinnville Youth Basketball Volunteer Coaching
Thank you for choosing to be a volunteer coach in the McMinnville Youth Basketball League! Without your help, the program could not remain in existence; you are a very important part of our success. Although your position is voluntary, it comes with a great deal of responsibility. Coaching is not a right, it is a privilege. We have the following expectations which we hope you will agree to and promote throughout the season. It will help you if you establish a clear set of team rules with consequences and emphasizing that there is to be no bullying on or off the field. Enforce the rules when personnel issues arise, assess the situation quickly, calmly, and carefully. Let players know what is expected of them and how they are doing. Offer to help them improve.
All head coaches or prospective head coaches must complete an MYBS Coaching Application and undergo a background check. Please print the application, fill out completely, scan the completed form, and email the completed form to Athletic Coordinator Terry Beard at [email protected] or bring the completed application to the Milner Recreation Center.
